Ironweed Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: An initial dose of aromas of clove, orange peel and raisins.

Palate: sweet with the first sip sending the brain Fruity Pebbles sense-memory synapses, cinnamon and spices, with hints of dark fruit and a more traditional rye flavor builds with additional sips, and an element of charred bread crust also develops.

Finish: A hint of the fruit that accentuates the earthy, szechuan peppercorn-like bitterness in the linger. For a spicy whiskey, the finish is remarkably smooth.
