The Soyuz TMA-20M was a crewed spaceflight mission under the Soyuz Programme, which is a human space transportation service operated by Roscosmos (the Russian Federal Space Agency). This particular mission was launched on December 15, 2015, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, and it transported three astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of Expedition 46. The spacecraft returned to Earth safely on June 18, 2016, after spending 179 days in orbit. Soyuz TMA-20M marked the end of an era for the Russian Soyuz spacecraft, as it was the last flight of the TMA series, with subsequent missions using the improved TMA-M series.
